    Vanessa's experience in personal care and respite spans over a decade, during which she has provided care to individuals in long-term care facilities and through private respite services. Her commitment to the field is further demonstrated by her current role as President of our organization, which runs a day program for adults with disabilities. In addition to her extensive experience, Vanessa graduated at the top of her class from St. Clair College of Arts and Sciences with a Personal Support Worker diploma in 2015, attesting to her academic and professional excellence. Vanessa's leadership and experience make her an invaluable asset to Ursa Major.

    Mitchell Young | Operations Director

    Mitchell's experience in supporting individuals with disabilities is extensive. He has previously worked at Augustine Villa in maintenance, where he developed meaningful relationships with residents through his daily interactions. Additionally, as the Operations Director, he applies his expertise to serve individuals in need. Mitchell's passion for supporting those with disabilities is reflected in his pursuit of becoming a specialist in Autism, which demonstrates his commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities.

  • Michael Tome - Programming Director - Ursa Major Learning Services and Center - Day Support Program

    Michael Tome | Programming Director

    Michael brings over a decade of experience in the field of education, specializing in working with individuals of varying abilities, including students and adults living with special needs. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in 2011, followed by a Master of Arts degree in 2013, and a Bachelor of Education degree in 2014, all from the University of Windsor, with an Additional Qualification in Special Education. As the Programming Director, he is responsible for applying his extensive experience in education and direct support fields to create programs that benefit individuals with special needs. Michael's dedication to his work is reflected in his years of dedicated work and volunteerism.
